Derek Lowe (2-0) pitched six innings of one-run ball despite walking seven and allowing four hits in his start for the Braves, who had lost two straight since opening the season with back-to-back wins over the Cubs. Todd Wellemeyer (0-1) took the loss, surrendering four runs on seven hits and four walks in 6 1/3 frames in his first appearance for the Giants, whose 4-0 start was their best since a seven-game streak to open the 2003 campaign. Juan Uribe and Aaron Rowand each drove in a run for a Giants offense that registered just six hits. Rowand had the game-winning hit in the 13th inning of San Francisco's 5-4 victory in the opener of this three-game set on Friday. Another tight game Saturday was blown open by the Braves in the final three innings. With things tied, 1-1, in the seventh inning, Wellemeyer loaded the bases and hit Troy Glaus with a pitch to force in the go-ahead run. Brandon Medders entered from the bullpen and got Yunel Escobar to bounce into a fielder's choice, though Nate McLouth came in to score. Dan Runzler came in to face the left-handed hitting Heyward, whose inside out swing resulted in a run-scoring single past a diving Pablo Sandoval at third base for a 4-1 game. Atlanta got a gift run in the eighth when Waldis Joaquin's wild pitch allowed Omar Infante to score. Joaquin stayed in for the ninth and got two quick outs before walking the rookie Heyward, who raced around from first on Eric Hinske's pinch-hit double. Infante's RBI single capped Atlanta's scoring, while Rowand added a run- scoring hit in the bottom half. The Braves left a runner in scoring position in their first two at-bats, and San Francisco squandered a bases-loaded, one-out situation in the second on consecutive strikeouts from Eli Whiteside and Wellemeyer. Lowe struck out to end the fourth inning with the basepaths full of Braves, and Uribe's one-out single in the bottom half scored Aubrey Huff for the game's first run. Heyward got just enough of a Wellemeyer offering in the sixth to send it over the left field wall, tying the game. Whiteside again had a chance to drive in a few with the bags full in the home half but grounded out to short. Game Notes The Giants will send ace Tim Lincecum to the mound for the rubber match on Sunday against Atlanta's Kenshin Kawakami...Wellemeyer had spent the previous three seasons with St. Louis before signing a minor-league deal with the Giants in February...Lowe entered the game with a 4-1 mark and a 2.05 ERA in seven career starts at AT&T Park.
