Thunder shoot for season sweep of Warriors

Basketball Betting Lines

04/11/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Oklahoma City Thunder shoot for their 50th win of the season tonight when they visit the lowly Golden State Warriors.

The Thunder are coming off a huge win over Phoenix on Friday when Kevin Durant finished with 35 points and nine rebounds, leading Oklahoma City to a key 96-91 victory over the Suns.

Durant sank 14-of-16 free throws for the Thunder, who got 15 points apiece from Jeff Green, Thabo Sefolosha and Serge Ibaka to snap a two-game slide.

Oklahoma City entered the game tied with Portland and San Antonio for the sixth spot in the Western Conference, but are now in sole possession of that position, one-half game ahead of San Antonio and a game clear of Portland.

"Second half we defended," said Thunder head coach Scott Brooks. "We didn't do a great job of scoring off of our defense, but we did defend. That's how we need to play."

The Thunder franchise hasn't won 50 games since they were based in Seattle and finished 52-30 during the 2004-05 season.

The Warriors made Don Nelson the NBA's all-time winningest coach with a win over Minnesota on Wednesday but followed that up by falling to the LA Clippers last night when Chris Kaman logged 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Steve Novak hit a key three-pointer down the stretch to push the Clips to a 107-104 victory.

Stephen Curry and Reggie Williams netted 29 and 22 points, respectively, to lead Golden State, which had won three of four coming in.

"That was a fun game to coach," said Nelson, who passed Lenny Wilkens as the all-time leader against the Wolves and now has 1,333 career victories. "Both teams played hard and they came away with the win."

Oklahoma City has already topped the Warriors three times this season and will aiming to sweep the season series tonight for the first time since 2001-02.

Stanley Cup betting

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.

The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.

MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.

Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
